Partner With Us

If you are a VTuber, VTuber agency, or content creator in that scene, we'd love to discuss partnering with you to bring incredible products to your fans and supporters. We provide a complete end-to-end process, including design, manufacture, safety testing and compliance, import, sale, and fulfillment!

What We Look For

There's no one-size-fits-all answer, but in general we are looking for VTubers who have an established audience willing to support their oshi monetarily. We usually use an estimate of 2-10% of your total audience to gauge how many fans might purchase items; for example, someone with 1,000 subscribers might expect to see purchases from 20-100 fans.

In terms of character concepts, we love to see characters that are uplifting and positive for their community and for the VTuber scene as a whole. We tend not to produce overly sexual/lewd designs, and leave those products to the many other wonderful producers and companies in the VTuber scene.

How It Works

  1. Concept. We'll review your character concept and lore, and prepare some concepts in text form (e.g. for our Berry strawberry milk keychain, a brief might read "pink liquid filled acrylic keychain shaped like a milk carton with Berry holding a strawberry on the front"). If you have your own ideas, we'd love to hear them.
  2. Contract. We'll set up a basic contract spelling out the project, how payments work, who owns what, etc. See the expectations section below and our Creator Code of Conduct. (TODO: make the creator code of conduct)
  3. Design. We'll produce designs for the concepts we've decided to turn into products. You'll be able to provide feedback on the designs so that we make sure they are authentic to your character.
  4. Production. We'll work with our manufacturers to produce the actual product (including samples, if needed) and importing the product to our HQ in the United States. For products that need safety testing (such as plush, which need to be treated as toys), we will obtain and host the necessary safety testing certifications.
  5. Fulfillment. We will host the products at our HQ and sell them via our website, or at conventions. Items sold online will be shipped directly to customers per our shipping policy.
  6. Payment. Each quarter we will send you a summary of sales of your products and the associated fees, along with your quarterly earnings.

At almost any stage here, we can make changes if we know about them early. For example, if you would prefer to have a specific designer work on a specific product, or if you would like us to do the full production but send the product to you/your warehouse and you handle fulfillment, let us know.

What We Expect From Partners

You need to provide us with high resolution reference assets of your character and any logos associated with the character. In addition (and most importantly) you must grant us the legal right to use your character design, logo design, name, and other similar IP to make products which will be codified in the contract.

You will also need to list your collaborators (artist, logo illustrator, etc) and show evidence that they have given you commercial rights to make and sell products. This can be in the form of screenshots of conversations you've had with them, linking to their terms of service, or any other evidence. In the event that it isn't 100% clear that you have rights to sell products, we may contact those collaborators just to get that confirmation(at our effort and expense).

When the product is ready to be announced, we will also require you to aid in marketing efforts, both by posting on social media and in the creator's streams, videos, or other content.

How Much Will You Make

Our standard deal involves splitting the profits of sales along a 70/30 split, with 70% of the profits going to Doki Dreamers and 30% going to the creator. We define profit as sale price minus all costs needed to get the product to sell.

The sale price is exactly what it sounds like, what the customer pays to buy the product, not including sales taxes. We typically keep prices flexible based on inventory and what the market will pay. If you require a firmly fixed price and control over sales and discounts, we can include that in the contract.

Each project includes a variety of costs. Traditionally these include designing the art, making samples, doing the actual production, and shipping and importing the product to our HQ. We typically bundle up all these costs and spread them out over one "batch" of inventory (unless you would prefer paying them up-front). Additionally, we may assess an additional fee for items sold at conventions (it costs a lot to table in a vendor hall!).

To give a practical example, here is what a cost of a keychain may cost. These costs are EXAMPLES ONLY and may not be reflective of what it actually takes to produce an item.

Total costs: $0
Potential profit: $0/ea or $0 total
Doki Dreamers cut (70%): $0/ea or $0 total
Creator cut (30%): $0/ea or $0 total

Note: Any subsequent production runs would not require the design fee, so the costs would go down (and thus the creator cut would be higher).
